"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin
My Personal Mission Statement:
Physical Education is about acquiring knowledge and skills that are the foundation for engaging in fun, safe and rewarding physical activities. My goal is to help each student realize their potential and empower them to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life. I work hard to create an atmosphere that is not only active but caring, supportive and non-threatening - where every student is challenged and successful at achieving their personal best. Younger children will develop motor skills that will serve as the foundation for active lifestyles. Older students, with competence in skills, will not only realize the physical rewards of healthy and active life habits but also the social, emotional and academic rewards as well.
Although COVID 19 has significantly affected so many aspects of our lives, it doesn’t mean that we can’t still be physically active! We all have new safety protocols to learn and follow, and some students are learning at school while others will learn from home. I am committed to embracing a mindset of flexibility this fall and look forward to a start filled with collaboration, good sportsmanship, safety and FUN!
