Coach Cooks - Class Expectations

  • Students will be expected to participate in all PE classes, whether in-school or online, to establish life-long fitness habits and stay physically active all year long!
  • Students will be expected to arrive at all (live and virtual) PE classes on time and be ready with appropriate attire to safely run, jump, move and play. (These should be well-tied, closed-toe shoes, preferably sneakers and loose-fitting shirts and shorts that allow for movement.)
  • Students will be expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship by playing fair and by the rules, encouraging their classmates, listening to the Coach and being proud of their accomplishments.
  • Students will be expected to always strive for their own personal best and not compare themselves to others. And they will encourage others to strive for their own personal best too!
  • Students will be expected to show respect for:
    • Themselves
    • Coach Cook and other adults who are here to help them succeed
    • Their classmates
    • The equipment they use every day.
    • The Plato Academy environment - inside and out.
  • Students will be expected to learn and abide by the safety protocols established to keep all of us safe during COVID19. And will be expected to help others to stay safe as well. This includes social distancing, wearing a mask, helping to wash and sanitize equipment and washing and using hand-sanitizer on your hands.
  • Students will be expected to learn and abide by all online protocols established to ensure virtual PE classes are a positive and productive experience for all participants.

* Students will be expected to engage in Fitness Testing once a quarter. This Fitness Testing will consist of Push Ups and Sit Ups. Students grade will not be affected by how many or how well they perform, but on their effort, development and participation in the test.
